Giving Credit to Real Musicians

There’s a lot of crappy modern music these days. The majority of what’s considered popular is not really that creative or noteworthy. However, hidden within this sea of random noise are bands that are decent, and bring a new hope to music itself. Such examples would be The Killers, Weezer, All-American Rejects, Cold Play, Phoenix, Artic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, Foster The Kids, among other innovative bands. There will always be crappy music out there, but bands like these bring the music industry a new beacon of hope.
But then again, maybe I am missing something about Justin Bieber. Maybe his talent is good, and maybe he is better than artist who can actually play an instrument. Or Skrillex, people have told me making electronic music is hard. However, I always thought playing with a real instrument was hard, I guess I’ve been wrong all these years. Look, the point is, these artist may do stuff I can’t do like carry a tune while doing an aerobics routine, but isn’t considering them “talented musicians” an insult to bands like the ones listed above? It just seems like those real musicians aren’t getting enough credit for their work? It’s just something to think about.
